13th December 2013 – Chester Magician
After doing so much driving recently, it was nice to be booked at a corporate event in my own town of Chester. There are lots of fabullous party venues in Chester, but tonight I was to perform at the superb Double Tree by Hilton Hotel at a Christmas party event for Essar Oil. I’m the only magician they recommend for Chester corporate events and Chester weddings, so it’s a real honour for me to be the first port of call.
The tables were gorgeously created by Covers and Bows, who I’ve seen at many a wedding fayre over the past few years and always enjoy seeing. It’s another perk of my job that I get to meet so many fun people before I’ve even started performing magic!
I was performing during the champagne reception in the conservatory area for the first hour, as guests mingled and chatted. As there was a fair few people mixing and mingling, I only spent a short amount of time with each group, but even five minutes is enough for some strong magic and a few laughs, which is enough to act as the perfect ice breaker for corporate events in Chester like this one.
In fact, I was even asked by the Managing Director to stay longer and perform at the tables! It’s always nice to be a appreciated, and, as great as that was, I already had a later booking*, so I had to leave. Never mind, I’m sure they had plenty of fun with their rocket balloons!
Oh, and, yeah, I do need the “extra”…that’s exactly the kind of pain I’m in… 😉
