19th December – Crewe Magician | Magician in Crewe
Today I would also be performing for the residents of Wulvern Housing scheme – a Cheshire housing scheme, based in Crewe, that provides supported accommodation to Older Adults. And today was their Christmas party. I had been asked to be a Crewe magician, working my magic and comedy at the tables after the meal.
Despite this Crewe audience being a lot older than my usual crowd, they really enjoyed the magic and gave as good as they got – which I loved. As a Crewe Magician, I’m used to being thrown into the deep end and working with different crowds – to be honest, it’s what I love about the job most of all. Why would a Crewe magician NOT enjoy meeting new people, making them laugh and showing them amazing magic tricks.
I performed my magic between visits from Santa, Tinkerbell and a whole host of characters – including, strangely enough, Batman, (though I’m not quite sure how he fit into the Christmas theme!). I also saw the largest raffle I have ever seen in my life, with every resident winning a bottle of wine (I think the local Bargain Booze owner has retired following that sale!).
I had an email from the manager a few days later saying that “I have just spoken to a group of ladies whom said they thought you were fantastic and very entertaining at their table“.
Who says that card tricks aren’t good fun?
