11th May 2014 – Liverpool Magician performing at a wedding at Speke Hall
Weddings are usually loud, crowded affairs. Everybody that you’ve ever known in your life turns up in posh clothing, drinks alcohol and dances to the disco music. Not today. Today, I was booked to perform at Speke Hall in Liverpool, a National Trust manor house for an intimate gathering of 25 people, following a wedding held in the beautiful grounds.
I was asked to do 2 hours of magic, which is quite a long time for only 25 people. Usually I would only recommend an hour, but the client was inisistent and wanted something going on and generating laughter right up to the meal.
In this circumstance, I perform a little bit differently. Because there is lots of time available; I perform in a more relaxed style – getting to know people a lot more and having much more interaction. It almost becomes less about the tricks, but just about getting people laughing. By spending longer with each group, you get to know them even more and closer bonds are formed. It’s a really fun style of performing for me, as you never know where the interactions are going to go. It’s another great advantage of booking an interactive form of entertainment, such as a magician – we can get to know our guests and tailor the entertainment for them – giving them the best time possible!
In fact, here’s the feedback I received from the happy couple:
“My husband and I secured John to perform for our guests. We met John on the day, and I have to say he came across as a lovely man and was keen to make sure the event went off well and take some of the pressure off me and my husband. True to his word, as soon as guests arrived, he began to mix and mingle. The laughter we heard from our guests being entertained indicated that John was being well received and a very good choice. This was further confirmed when we spoke to our guests who ranged from 7 years to 80 years old, some of whom can be harsh critics, and everyone spoke very highly of him and how marvelous his act was. They advised they were entertained, shared a laugh and were very impressed with him. I would not hesitate to once again secure the services of John. Highly recommended.”
As a Liverpool magician, I can get your guests laughing at corporate events as well as weddings and birthday parties. Why not email me today to see how I could bring some fun and laughter to your next event?
