Merry Christmas!

I know, I know. It’s not even December yet, is it?

To be fair, I’m usually the first to moan at people who insist on putting up their decorations ridiculously early every year, just waiting for Christmas; but, for magicians and performers, Christmas is all we can think about right now.

It’s a hectic time for us all, hence my Season’s greetings now; before I forget later!

December has been booking up for a while now, with most corporate events booking entertainment in September and October (for me at least), so I, and the other thousands of performers, are just warming up, getting ready for our marathon month. It’s the only time of the year I try to maintain some form of physical and mental health; I eat right (ok, better) and I try to sleep and relax more. The last thing I need is to be burned out halfway through December and not be able to complete bookings.

Whatever happens, I plough through and recover in January.

In fact, last year was particularly challenging – I hit a patch of ice on a country lane on my home from a gig and rolled my car over. After I got out of the car, my main concern was, “can I still work? I need to work!”. Christmas is a crazy time.

Oh, that reminds me; I should really make some effort to actually market myself in these posts…

*BLATANT SALES ALERT*

If you’re having a party, or are looking for something different to entertain your family and friends, why not book a magician to come round and amaze them with wonderful magic tricks?

There. That should do it.

In the new year, I’ll be doing more comedy, magic shows and hopefully holding a few more of the “Introduction to Card Magic” classes, the first of which I held a few weeks ago. So, if you know of anyone who might like to hear about this kind of thing, feel free to point them at my website, so that they can sign up themselves. I will never pass or sell email addresses, and promise not to spam you.

If you ever have a question that you’d like me to answer in a blog post, please email me and I’ll be happy to oblige!

Early or not, if I don’t manage to speak to you beforehand, have an awesome Christmas!
